Hazardous Area Training

Hazardous Area Training Course

Course Overview

The Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas (EEHA) course equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to perform electrical work safely in hazardous environments. The training aligns with the competencies required for working with electrical equipment in hazardous areas, as outlined in AS/NZS 4761.

Combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practical exercises, this course prepares participants to effectively inspect, install, maintain, and address breakdowns of electrical equipment in environments where explosive atmospheres may be present.

Our purpose-built training system, along with portable onsite training boards, provides participants with the opportunity to practice on functional hazardous area equipment, creating a comprehensive and practical learning experience.

  • Underground Coal Mining – Learn the specific requirements for hazardous areas in underground coal operations, including Group I equipment and ignition risk controls.

  • Gas and Vapours – Interpret classification drawings, select appropriate equipment, and apply safety systems for flammable gases and vapours in oil and gas facilities.

  • Combustible Dusts – Develop the skills to identify and manage dust explosion risks in industrial environments such as food, grain, and chemical processing.

Delivery

Hazardous Areas – Electrical can be achieved by completing the 5-day face-to-face training. The 5 days of training include information delivery, practical demonstrations, written assessments, and practical assessments conducted in a simulated hazardous area environment.

Students are provided with a PDF version of the workbooks for future reference.
